Sup y'all. It's 5:10 am and I can't sleep because I'm still on Alberta time (10:10pm) and I'm possibly extremely overtired. I got home this morning from skiing in Banff for a month. I'm getting all pensive and retrospective because it's nearing the end of 2013 but this has been a fucking crazy year and a lot of things have changed or happened or subtly evolved without me noticing. I'm going to find a billion of these kind of quizzes to review my year and you're probably going to want to block me before the end of them all (this one isn't even very 2013-centric). I've never broken anything so maybe this scar on my stomach that I got from falling over on my bike a few years ago. It's faint but probably the biggest scar.

12. What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Describe it in detail.
I've had loads of vivid nightmares recently because of the medication I'm taking - a month ago I had a dream about the apocalypse where everyone in the world died, including me, and I actually woke myself up by screaming out loud which I've never done before. And 2 weeks ago I had a dream about a scene from this Korean horror film 'Horror Stories 2' or something (I haven't even watched the whole thing) where there's this creepy demon ghost dead woman thing in a lift and the more you look at her the more interest she'll have in you, so you have to try and avoid making eye contact. At the end of the dream I was trying to block out everything by crouching in the corner of the lift, with my head to the wall, and she came up behind me, slipped her hand around my side and breathed into my neck. I woke up suddenly and still felt the sensation of her breathing on that spot. Creepy as fuck.

Uhhh wow. I went ice skating on Lake Louise, Banff on Tuesday of last week, which was incredible because I've only been skating once and it was over 10 years ago, and it was a naturally frozen lake in a beautiful setting and it was just me and a friend on the whole rink. And the skating itself was fun too. Maybe another day was during the past month in Banff as well - natural hot springs in the open air whilst it was snowing, or skiing down empty slopes from the highest open point of the resort as fast as I could minutes before closing time which I've never done before. I can't think of anything else. Maybe having an amazing night out drinking with friends.

Soooo I've officially finished school and now I'm taking a year out before going to uni... I still haven't booked anything but if all goes to plan (and I have the money etc) (which is a little ambitious) my year will look like this: next couple of months spent working and learning German, then maybe staying in Banff in Canada for 3 weeks (this is my favourite place in the world) whilst I learn to become a ski instructor (skiing is also my favourite thing to do in the world), then maybe visit Germany for a few days, then in February visit my sister in Australia (who is staying there for a year) with my family for her 21st (Boof, if you're reading this - I'm coming for you), then travel round that area with her, then volunteer in/explore Cambodia for a month, then maaaaaybe go to Japan for a couple of weeks (this is the least likely part of my year because it's so expensive)~
That takes me to the middle of May, where I'd come home and work my ass off to pay off the debt I may or may not owe my parents. I've got this job that pays really fucking well (it's just part-time waitressing but there are big events with really long hours so I don't have to actually choose many shifts)

I love all my pets equally, I swear, but I'd have to go for my kitty, Ginny. She's not actually a kitty because I've had her for more than 10 years, but she's petite and so pretty and ugh she's my best friend. She's black with white paws and a couple of white marks on her face. She greets me when she hears me coming upstairs, and usually hangs around with me in my room.
6. What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you recently?
Uh... About a week ago I went to this Model UN conference thing with some people from my school that lasts a weekend. It's held in a school about 45 minutes away from mine and loads of people from other countries come too. You each have a country to represent and you have to debate these topics in different committees. On the Saturday morning, you have to make a policy statement for your country in front of everyone... usually they're pretty boring, and most people take them too seriously, so my friends dared me to try and make a joke in mine. When I was reading it out, before I even got to the joke I caught eyes with my friend and started laughing and couldn't even continue because I was giggling so much. The whole of the committee (like 50 people) stared at me so disapprovingly (basically no one ended up laughing at my unfunny joke anyway </3).
7. What are you current worries?
University stuff. I think I know where I want to go now, but I'll need to call up the admissions people and ask them if it's okay for me to 1) have a deferred entry (in which I must explain what I'll actually be doing in my gap year to make it worthwhile), 2) still be given the guarantee of a place for lower grades if I still make them my firm choice, 3) switch from a MA degree to a BA, and 4) switch to the course which includes a study year abroad (in the states no less). Who knows if they'll let me do any of these. :c Also, I have revision to get started on... And this guy who needs to get his shit together...
8. What are your thoughts on religion?
I can appreciate why some people feel they need religion in their lives, but I don't feel there's a need for it anymore. It's outdated in our society and ends up doing more harm than good. For me, that outweighs the benefits of having it on a personal level.
9. Do you play any instruments?
I had piano lessons for an embarrassing number of years without really getting anywhere, but I've also been taking guitar lessons for a couple of years now.
10. What TV shows are you currently into?
I only really got into TV last year - I currently follow Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Game of Thrones and I'll happily watch a bunch more if I see them on. Mostly comedies. I want to start watching The Walking Dead. Also, if anime counts, I finished Sword Art Online earlier this year and I'm on the way to finishing Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals (that's right, they made a fucking spin-off series about Team Gai with 51 episodes!!) TV's a pretty good excuse to temporarily put life on hold.

My first crush was Elijah Wood as Frodo. Finding out he was gay when I was about 8 broke my heart. ;-; I'd already sent him fanmail and everything. I've already sold my heart to Till Lindemann, Benedict Cumberbatch, Serj Tankian, Simon Pegg, Bob Odenkirk and Damian Lewis among a few others. Kinda have the hots for our current Prime Minister, too. (I know I make myself sick.)

Oh boy. I fancied Yugi about the same time as Elijah Wood... But now, right this minute, I have an unhealthy attachment to Rock Lee, Gai, Saul Goodman, Phoebus and Klein (SAO), and on the slightly-more-healthy-but-still-moderately-worrying side, we have Andrew Scott's Moriarty, Elrond (come to think of it, that's not healthy at all) and a few more I can't be bothered to name. I even had a thing for No Face since I was about 8 years old... that says it all, really.
